Turd TrackerEffective Date: December 3, 2025Turd Tracker ("the App") is a trail cleanup tool operated by Trail Hacker LLC, a California limited liability company ("we," "us," or "our"). The App helps users mark and retrieve dog waste bags using location-based reminders. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.The short version: Your data stays on your device. We don't collect it, transmit it, or share it with anyone.Information We CollectLocation DataThe App collects location data to provide its core functionality:- Bag marker locations: GPS coordinates of waste bags you mark on the map
- Your current location: Used to display your position on the map and trigger geofenced reminders
- Background location: The App accesses your location in the background to send reminder notifications when you approach a marked bag locationUsage StatisticsThe App maintains simple counters stored locally on your device (e.g., number of bags retrieved). These statistics are not transmitted anywhere and exist only on your device.What We Do NOT Collect- Personal information (name, email, phone number)
- Account credentials (the App has no user accounts)
- Device identifiers or advertising IDs
- Analytics or usage tracking data
- Any data from other apps on your deviceHow Your Information Is UsedLocation data is used solely to:- Display your position and marked bags on the map
- Set up geofenced regions around marked bag locations
- Trigger reminder notifications when you enter or exit these regionsYour location data never leaves your device. There is no server, no cloud storage, and no data transmission of any kind.Data StorageAll data is stored locally on your device using your operating system's standard app storage. No data is transmitted to external servers, cloud services, or third parties.Data Retention and Deletion- Bag markers: When you mark a bag as "retrieved," that marker and its location data are immediately and permanently deleted from your device.
- Active markers: Remain stored on your device until you retrieve them or delete the App.
- Complete deletion: Uninstalling the App removes all stored data from your device.There is no data export feature. The App does not backup or sync data to any external service.Third-Party ServicesThe App does not integrate with any third-party services, analytics platforms, advertising networks, or data brokers. The App uses your device's built-in map display (Apple Maps on iOS, Google Maps on Android), which is handled by your operating system according to Apple's or Google's respective privacy policies.Data SharingWe do not share, sell, rent, or disclose your data to anyone. Since all data remains on your device and is never transmitted to us, we have no access to it and therefore cannot share it.Children's PrivacyThe App does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Since the App collects no personal information and transmits no data, it does not pose privacy risks specific to children.Your Rights and Choices- Location permissions: You can revoke location permissions at any time through your device's Settings. Note that the App requires location access to function.
- Delete individual markers: Mark any bag as "retrieved" to immediately delete that location data.
- Delete all data: Uninstall the App to remove all stored data from your device.California Privacy Rights (CalOPPA)The California Online Privacy Protection Act requires us to disclose how we respond to "Do Not Track" signals. Because the App does not collect personally identifiable information or track users across third-party websites, Do Not Track signals are not applicable. The App does not track your online activities over time or across different apps or websites.California users have the right to know what data is collected about them, request deletion of their data, and not be discriminated against for exercising their privacy rights. Since all data is stored locally on your device and we have no access to it, you maintain full control: delete individual markers at any time, or uninstall the App to remove all data.Changes to This PolicyWe may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
